A moment I enjoyed with my family
The house was eerily silent, not a sound could be heard. All the attention of the house occupants and resident insects was focused on an inconspicuous boring grey board in the living room. As the opponents stared at each other, the entire atmosphere was filled with tension. In this game of high stakes, a single blink it seemed, could determine the rise and fall of champions. To my great annoyance, my hand phone started vibrating, shattering the tension. The moment my attention was diverted, as i quickly read and text ed the reply, the rest of the players took the opportunity to argue over who had cheated, whose turn it was and who was likely to win. My family and I were as usual in the midst of playing a very delightful and engaging strategy game called Blokus(For more information regarding the game please go to http://www.blokus.com/)

As i hit the send button on my phone, and turn my attention back to the game, i realised that everyone had skipped my turn twice. I immediately asked them to stop, explained to them what they had done and patiently waited for them to remove the offending pieces. As i listened to their excuses about being mystified on how they managed to skip my turn twice, i calmly placed my piece on to a very strategic spot which was in the middle of the board. As i listened to the pleading or even threats of my family members, i simply said "your turn." My sister then said that she was thirsty and was going to drink some water. Now it was me and my parents turn to place as many pieces onto the board. By the time my sister came back, the board(correction battlefield) had change. So we spent the next 5 minutes arguing where which piece fitted.(There's an unofficial rule that if you managed to place a piece on the board without anyone noticing, you can keep it there after one turn) Seeing an opening move, i placed my piece there and 15 minutes later, i won the game. If family life ever seems boring and too routine for you, I highly recommend this game…
(The winning colour is green and guess who won? ME)
